Activating and Installing Pilot Console

Pilot Console Product Key and Software

When you purchase a Pilot Console Single-Seat Software License, you receive a Product Key that will enable you to install Pilot Console on your Windows-based computer. There are two possible deliverables for your Pilot Console software purchase:

  • Electronic Deliverable.   If you chose to receive a download-only license, your Product Key and Pilot Console software can be found by logging into My Account on the CACE Technologies Web site. Use the credentials provided in the email received after your purchase.
  • Electronic Deliverable + CD.   As with the download-only option, your Product Key and Pilot Console software can be found by logging into My Account on the CACE Technologies Web site. Your Product Key can also be found on the inside of the CD case that houses your Pilot Console software CD.

Online Access to Your Product Keys and Pilot Console Software

Once you have logged into My Account on the CACE Technologies Web site, you will be able to see all of your Pilot Console Product Keys. For each Pilot Console License you will be able to view the following information:

Pilot Console Product Keys
  • Product Key: an 18-digit alpha-numeric key that is used during the installation process to activate and install Pilot Console on a particular computer.
  • Number of Activations: the current number of activations of Pilot Console using this Product Key.
  • Pilot Download: link to Pilot Console installer.
  • Subscription End Date: the end date of the update subscription associated with this Product Key.

Maximum Number of Activations

Each Product Key has a maximum number of allowable activations. A Pilot Console Single-Seat Software License has a Product Key which allows a single activation. This means that if you install Pilot Console on a machine and would like to move it to another, you will have to uninstall Pilot Console from the first machine before installing it on the new one. Use the Add/Remove process to uninstall and deactivate your Product Key so that it may be used for installation of Pilot Console on another system.

Pilot Console can be purchased with a Product Key that allows multiple activations. This is useful if you are considering a Site License. Contact info@cacetech.com to learn more about this option.

Keeping Track of Activations

During the installation process, you will be asked to provide your Product Key. After this you will be asked to select between Internet Activation and Phone Activation. If your computer is connected to the Internet, then Internet Activation is the most convenient way to proceed. Otherwise, you can select Phone Activation (available business days, between 8:00am to 5:00pm PST). Once the Activation step is complete, you will be able to install Pilot Console. After successful activation, you will notice that the number of activations associated with the Product Key has been incremented by one.

Pilot Console Uninstall

In order for you to move Pilot Console from one machine to another, you may have to Uninstall Pilot Console. The reason for this is that if you have reached the maximum number of activations associated with your Product Key, you will not be able to install Pilot Console on another machine. Uninstalling Pilot Console will reduce the number of activations of Pilot Console allowing you to install it on another machine.

The Pilot Console Uninstaller is accessed using the Microsoft Add or Remove Programs application. During the Uninstall process you will be asked to choose between Internet Deactivation and Phone Deactivation. If your computer is connected to the Internet, then Internet Deactivation is the most convenient way to proceed. Otherwise, you can select Phone Deactivation (business days, between 8:00am to 5:00pm PST). After uninstalling Pilot Console you can go to My Account and you should see that the number of activations associated with the Product Key has been decremented by one.

Pilot Console Updates

New releases of Pilot Console will become available periodically. These releases will contain bug fixes, new features, and new Views. As long as your update subscription has not expired, you will be able to download and install these new releases using your original Product Key. The typical process for installing a new Pilot Console release is to uninstall the current version of Pilot Console on your computer and then install the latest release using the same Product Key.
You can obtain Pilot Console updates by going to the My Account page on the CACE Technologies Web site and entering your log-in credentials on the resulting page in the “Returning Customer” data entry fields. The Pilot Console Download link refers to the latest version of Pilot Console that was released prior to your Subscription End Date.
